Music Ministry

Music and its importance is indicated throughout the Word of God. It is mentioned in the Bible over 839 times! In II Chronicles 6, David appointed singers over the song service. Their job was so important that these singers didn’t work any place else because they always had to be available to minister. Listed below are a few scriptures from the Word that admonish us to sing praises to the Lord:

Music was first mentioned in Genesis 4:21
Miriam and the other women sang and danced to praise found in Exodus 15:1-21
Make a joyful noise onto the Lord – Psalm 66:1-2
Singing – Psalm 68:4
Sing aloud – Psalm 81:1
Make a joyful noise unto the Rock! Jesus is the Rock! Psalm 95

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  If anyone .speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and the dominion forever and ever.  Amen.
